Health insurance is one of the most important financial decisions you’ll make — for yourself and for your family. At Trek Insurance Solutions, we help individuals and families compare health plans from leading carriers so you get the right coverage at every stage of life. Whether you’re buying your first ACA plan, adding a new dependent, bridging a coverage gap, or exploring options outside your employer, we’re here to guide you through it.

Individual & Family Health Insurance

Health coverage isn’t one-size-fits-all. We work with multiple carriers across all three major market types so we can show you genuine options — not just what one company happens to sell.

ACA Marketplace Plans

Plans available through the Affordable Care Act marketplace cover ten essential health benefits: doctor visits, emergency care, hospitalization, mental health, maternity and newborn care, prescription drugs, pediatric services, preventive care, lab services, and rehabilitative services. Many applicants qualify for premium tax credits and cost-sharing reductions based on household income and size.

We help you:

  • Estimate the premium tax credits you may qualify for
  • Compare Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum metal tiers
  • Understand out-of-pocket maximums and how they interact with your deductible
  • Identify the plans that include your preferred doctors and prescriptions

Open Enrollment typically runs November through January. Qualifying life events — marriage, birth of a child, loss of other coverage — may open a Special Enrollment Period outside that window.

Off-Marketplace Plans

Some carriers offer health plans directly, outside the ACA exchange. These may suit you if you don’t qualify for premium subsidies, want access to carrier-specific networks not available on the exchange, or prefer a different plan structure. We compare both on- and off-marketplace options so you see the full picture.

Short-Term Medical Plans

Short-term health insurance is designed for coverage gaps — if you’re between jobs, waiting for employer benefits to begin, recently graduated and aging off a parent’s plan, or in a period of transition. Plans offer coverage for up to 364 days with the option to renew in many states.

Premiums are typically lower than ACA plans, though coverage is more limited and pre-existing conditions may not be covered. We explain exactly what’s covered and what’s not before you commit — no surprises at claim time.

Health Insurance for Families

Family health plans cover you, your spouse, and dependent children under a single policy. We help families evaluate:

  • Deductibles, copays, and out-of-pocket maximums for the whole household
  • Provider networks — PPO, EPO, and HMO — and which covers your family’s doctors
  • Prescription drug formularies and how they cover your medications
  • Pediatric dental and vision requirements under ACA plans
  • Dental and vision add-ons that pair with major medical coverage

Many families qualify for substantial premium tax credits. We run the numbers and show you exactly what’s available in your area — including whether an on-marketplace or off-marketplace plan delivers better value for your household.

Dental & Vision Insurance

Most major medical plans do not include comprehensive dental and vision. Standalone plans fill that gap — and the cost is often lower than people expect.

Dental coverage typically includes preventive care (cleanings, x-rays), basic restorative work (fillings, extractions), and major procedures (crowns, root canals). Some plans include orthodontia.

Vision coverage covers annual eye exams, frames and lenses, and contact lens allowances.

Many dental and vision plans start under $35 per month combined. We offer both standalone options and bundled packages that complement any major medical plan.

Why Independent Matters

Trek Insurance Solutions is an independent brokerage. We represent United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna, Anthem, Medica, and other top-rated carriers. Because we’re not tied to any single company, we compare plans across the market to find what works best for your situation — not what’s best for one insurer’s bottom line.

That independence matters most in health insurance, where the difference between a Bronze and a Silver plan, or a PPO and an EPO, can mean thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket costs over a year. We take the time to understand your health needs, your preferred providers, your prescriptions, and your budget before we make a recommendation.
